Stallion 51
You can spend an hour soaring and swooping through Central Florida in a beautifully preserved and painted P-51 Mustang from the Kissimmee Airport. These classic World War I airplanes are powered by V-12 Rolls Royce engines and can reach speeds of 500 mph, though you'll be limited to 280 or 300 mph. You'll sit in the back of these Mustangs with dual-control cockpits, but you'll have control of the plane for most of the time if you want it. The best part is it's not necessary to have any prior flight experience to take this ride.
The Stallion 51 program offers comprehensive check-out, transition, and re-currency training as well as orientation flights in the famous dual cockpit-dual control P-51 Mustang and historic T-6 Texan. Stallion 51's base of operations at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport also offers FAA medical certification, aircraft sales, and management (KISM). For almost 34 years, Stallion 51 has been a world leader in WWII aviation, specializing on safety and quality flight instruction. These flights are the perfect way to experience some aviation history and get a taste of what it might be like to fly one of these beautiful planes.
History of Stallion 51
In April of 1999, 65 P-51 Mustangs and 12 Mustang legends from WWII gathered at Stallion 51 Corporation's Kissimmee, Florida headquarters for a "Class of 51" reunion, reuniting the planes and pilots who made history. This event led to the creation of the Stallion 51 flight experience, giving civilians the opportunity to fly in a WWII-era P-51 Mustang.
