Gatorland in Kissimmee, FL offers so much more than alligators at a price that won't ruin your trip! Gatorland is a Central Florida iconic attraction located between Orlando and Kissimmee. It offers a unique and natural alternative to today's bigger amusement parks. It is a 110-acre Florida amusement park and wildlife preserve that has been privately held by the Godwin family for 73 years.

In addition to alligators and crocodiles, Gatorland also has exhibits featuring bobcats, black bears, white-tailed deer, and Florida panthers. There are also 2 aviaries home to more than 500 birds, including American bald eagles, scarlet macaws, and toucans.

History of Gatorland 

Gatorland first opened in 1949 as a 10-acre tourist attraction featuring Owen Godwin's collection of alligators and crocodiles. His intent was to provide an educational exhibit on the natural history of the creatures. Over time, the park grew to its present size and scope, adding features such as animal shows, a children's play area, and a zip-line attraction. It offers a unique and natural alternative to today's bigger amusement parks. It is a 110-acre Florida amusement park and wildlife preserve that has been privately held by the Godwin family for 73 years.


Popular Features of Gatorland 

Alligators

Home to more than 2,000 alligators, Gatorland is one of the largest alligator breeding facilities in the world. You can see these impressive creatures up close at Gatorland's Alligator Breeding Marsh and Gator Feeding Show.


Snakes

In the Gatorland Mile of Monsters, you will find live snakes, including king cobras, black mambas, and anacondas.


Wild Cats

Meet the Florida Panthers and BobCats in the Wild Florida exhibit. These animals are native to our state and are some of the most popular attractions at Gatorland.


Crocodiles

In the Jungle Crocs of the World exhibit, you will see Nile crocodiles, Cuban crocodiles, and American crocodiles.


Birds

In the two aviaries at Gatorland, you will find more than 500 birds, including owls, scarlet macaws, and toucans.


Tortoises

Home to Giant Tortoises from the Galapagos Islands and Aldabra Atoll, Gatorland is one of the few places in the world where you can see these majestic creatures.


Screamin’ Gator Zip Line

The exhilarating Screamin' Gator Zip Line at Gatorland will take you on an amazing outdoor journey. Your experience will take you on a 1,200-foot high-flying, heart-pounding thrill from some of the world's best zip line towers.


Gator Night Shine

Make your way down Gatorland's Alligator Breeding Marsh's winding wooden paths, supplied only with a flashlight and gator food. You'll hear the rustling of feathers overhead and the disturbed water, as the noises of the night come alive around you.


Gator Gauntlet

Fly 350 feet in the air and defy gravity while floating over the Alligator Breeding Marsh, replete with 130 enormous alligators on the ground below! 


Trainer-for-a-Day

This program will provide you with an understanding of what it takes to work with and around dangerous animals.
